St.George's Church

Badshot Lea Road, Badshot Lea, Farnham  GU9 9LD     map

The Foundation Stone, seen inside the Church on the left of the west end, was laid by the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Viscount Middleton, on 23rd August, 1902. The Church was finished and consecrated on 24th October, 1903 by the Bishop of Winchester, as Guildford was then part of the vast Diocese of Winchester.

For most of its life the Church  remained 'unfinished' - the southern aisle was built as a 'temporary' structure. Then in 1999 when a Church Room was added, funded largely from the sale of land adjacent to the church. This redevelopment also saw the demolition of the Old Parsonage and the building of a new Vicarage.

There are regular services on Sundays and during the week, and the new meeting room is used for both church and community activities.

You are very welcome to pay us a visit at any of the services, or if you just want a quiet place to pray or meditate, you'll usually find the Church open during the day.
